At chapters' start, he instructs the newly-of-age Pogo how to hunt and gather food. After Pogo discovers Beru in his tribe's cave, he hesitates on introducing her to the Elder, fearing his strict punishment. Unfortunately, Beru is discovered by the Elder when the Kuu Tribe attacks in search of her. Even after Pogo fends off the invaders, the Elder still has him exiled for breaking the rule, though not without some regret.
