Introduction

“I... I... I—! Aieee!”
—Pogo inventing the word "ai" while alone with Beru

Pogo is the protagonist of The First chapter. He is a youthful, excitable caveman boy who finds himself learning much more about the world he lives in.

Profile

Appearance

Pogo has a long wild mane of green hair, along with a stone headpiece worn like a headband. He has big, bushy black eyebrows, and relatively large brown eyes. He wears a typical caveman outfit, a leopard print with one shoulder strap, leaving one side of his chest exposed, tightened with a black string belt. He wears stone anklets around the bottom of his legs. His artwork depicts him carrying a bone as a weapon.

Personality

Because he lives in a time before language, the majority of Pogo's personality is displayed through his actions. He is rather brash, not afraid to hit his gorilla friend Gori if he does something annoying - Like scare Beru or get distracted by female Goris -, and unafraid of the much larger Odo. He also bears a strong sense of justice, as he is always ready to fight. He, like any other young boy, is very impressionable by women, falling in love with Beru almost instantly. This trait plays into the final chapter if you pick Lei Kugo as your protagonist and go to grab Pogo; unlike other protagonists, he will not fight her, instead being greatly charmed by her beauty. Along with his great sense of justice, it may be that Pogo is very forgiving compared to some of the other protagonists - He shows no resentment towards Zaki once the Kuu Tribe member helps him fight Odo and appears to at least somewhat forgive The Lord of Dark at the end of The Dominion of Hate.

Background

During The First

Pogo is a youthful Paleolithic cave-dweller that lives with his tribe to the south. After performing a coming-of-age ritual and learning how to be a hunter, Pogo discovers the stowaway cavewoman Beru, who had fled from her tribe in the north after nearly being sacrificed. Instantly smitten, Pogo vows to protect her, which includes taking from his tribe's storeroom for food. Unfortunately, his devotion leads him to be exiled by his tribe after Beru is found out by the Kuu Tribe, even after he fights them off (Including Zaki), and his Elder fears a war. When Beru is recaptured by the tribe, Pogo and his gorilla friend Gori go and brave the hostile beasts of the land and the rival tribe members to rescue her, eventually bringing down the Odo, the Tyrannosaurus Rex enslaving the northern tribe. With this act of bravery, Pogo earns his tribe's and the Kuu Tribe's respect along with Beru's love.

The following article contains story spoilers!

After being transported to Lucrece by Odio, he is encountered in a southern part of the Silent Wood in a hidden clearing filled with Balmgrass. The clearing can be accessed through a hidden path beside the road leading to The Archon's Roost. He can be recruited after looking for him hiding in the trees around and fighting him. If you chose Lei Kugo as your starting character, he can be recruited without fighting.

If chosen as the protagonist, at the end after Odio is defeated, Pogo gives Oersted a hug, reminding him of love. (The hug is Remake-exclusive)

After the heroes go home to their times, he reunites with Beru and their first child.

Bad Endings

If the player finishes off Oersted after taking down Purity of Odio, and if Pogo is the leader, the caveman can only cry out in pity. Since Oersted was killed too early, the Lord of Dark's hatred is free to continue the cycle, and Pogo along with the other six heroes are presumably trapped in Lucrece.

If Oersted is chosen as the protagonist for the final chapter, his hatred overwrites Odo's defeat, turning Pogo and the others into a meal for the T-Rex.
