The Gamahebi is the final boss of the Twilight of Edo Japan chapter. The Infiltrator. It is the final demonic form of Ode Iou: a giant, venomous frog monster with a snake draped across it.

History

During The Infiltrator

As Ode Iou is cornered on his castle rooftops by Oboromaru and the prisoner, he assumes this form to fight them, proclaiming himself the eternal ruler of Japan. While his new form proves formidable, it is no match for the righteous pair, who overcome it's hellish strength and slay it, ending the rule of the Ode.

Final Chapter: The Dominion of Hate

A statue of the Gamahebi found in the chamber of statues inside the Archon's Roost, alongside the other incarnations of Odio. It is fought once more with only Oboromaru in the true ending route, as part of a gauntlet of every incarnation. If Oersted is selected as the protagonist, the Gamahebi is briefly playable in an alternate outcome of its battle with Oboromaru and the prisoner.

Stats

Strategy

Oboromaru will want to attack from a distance with his stronger techniques, including Phantom Butterflies or Death Blossom. As usual, the prisoner will be lacking in terms of damage dealing, and is best used for support, such as interrupting the Gamahebi's Venomous Scourge technique with Warning Shot. Several of the Gamahebi's attacks create poison field tiles around it, which may heal it immensely, to counter this, use Oboromaru's Fireflies' Wake or Waterspout to replace them. Avoid standing diagonally to it since it will use its strongest attack Drink Blood. As this is the final battle of the chapter, healing items may be used liberally.

Remake

The Gamahebi is resistant to all physical affinities, and is weak to Spirit techniques. Unfortunately, both playable character's Spirit techniques, Bloodlust and Warning Shot, aren't strongly equipped for damage dealing, so their stronger techniques are still recommended.
