Apophisphilo is a boss from the final chapter, The Dominion of Hate. He is a bird-man demon with flaming wings who rides a giant red eel. He is the guardian of the entrance to the Trial of Power, who only appears if Masaru Takahara is in the party. He attacks the party upon approaching him to test their strength. Upon his defeat, the Trial of Power is permanently opened.
Strategy
Apophisphio is a quite easy boss due to his relatively low HP. He is fought at the entrance of the Trial of Power. He will mainly attack with Silver Fang which has a chance to inflict the Petrification status. Try to split your party so that they do not get hit all at once. Do not stand diagonally to him or he will inflict serious damage with Death Trail. After you defeat him, you will gain access to the dungeon.
Remake
With Apophisphilo's weakness to Agile techniques, it is encouraged to face him with those who possess these moves, such as Pogo and the Earthen Heart Master. He is resistant to Martial techniques and all elemental affinities sans Divine.
